FAQ
WHERE DO YOU DELIVER?
We are currently only delivering to Metro Nashville and surrounding areas.
IS YOUR MEAT HUMANELY RAISED?
Yes. At Hext Quality Meat we prioritize the well-being of our animals at every stage of life. They are raised entirely on pasture, free to roam and grow at their natural pace, with minimal stress and plenty of care.
DO YOU USE ANY HORMONES OR ANTIBIOTICS?
Never!
WHY DOES THE COLOR OF YOUR MEAT LOOK DIFFERENT?
You may notice our beef is darker in color than what you would typically see in the meat you’d find in a supermarket, which is pumped full of dye and antibiotics. Our cattle are raised naturally, and grow mass and muscle at their own pace, which leads to the deeper color.
WHY DO WE FREEZE YOUR MEAT?
This is a safer way to transport the product and keep the meat fresh and safe from contamination from when it’s butchered to when it arrives at your door. Freezing the meat also helps to prevent the growth of microorganisms that cause both spoilage and foodborne illnesses.
THE CUT I WANT IS SOLD OUT, WHAT NOW?
We process animals weekly, so there's a good chance we can get what you need soon. If you're looking for a specific cut, reach out to us via email-- we may be able to set it aside for you as a special order.
HOW CAN I TELL IF MY MEAT ARRIVED IN GOOD CONDITION?
The meat should arrive to you frozen and vacuum-sealed. Unless otherwise noted, it is perfectly fine if the gel packs arrive not frozen, as long as they are still cold. If the box is damaged or opened in any way, please contact us immediately.
I AM NOT HAPPY WITH ALL OR PART OF MY ORDER. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Please contact us by email as soon as possible. We always do right by our customers. Our goal is to make sure you enjoy our meat as much as we do.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE RETURNS?
Given the perishable nature of the product, we cannot accept returns. Additionally, gift certificates are non-returnable. If there is a problem with your order, reach out to us and we will work to make it right.
IS YOUR MEAT CERTIFIED ORGANIC?
We never use any growth hormones or antibiotics. They are fed a pesticide-free diet and are raised outside on pasture their entire lives.
AREN’T COWS BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT?
It depends on how they are raised. Pasture-raised animals can actually help the environment by regenerating and fertilizing the soil through rotational grazing. The way major food industry farms raise commodity animals is bad because the majority of them are raised in a concentrated animal feed operations, which is unhealthy on so many levels. Animal farming can be harmful for the environment when they are raised as part of a factory system. They’re pumped with antibiotics and hormones that make them grow faster so they can be slaughtered younger. Also, the feed they use to bulk them up upsets their stomachs and causes damaging gas/Co2 emissions. These are just a few of the many issues.
